Save Your Ash Trees from EAB Destruction

Friday, May 20, 2016
EABEmerald Ash Borer (EAB) is a small, green jeweled beetle that kills ash tress by feeding on the tissue under the bark. This feeding disrupts the trees' ability to move water and nutrients back and forth from the roots to the rest of the tree. The tree starves and eventually dies within two to four years of being attached.    Read More . . .

Adding More Outdoor Fun to Your Patio

Friday, January 22, 2016

pizzaWhat would you say if we suggested an evening of pizza and movies...on a beautiful June night? During the summer, most of us in Wisconsin prefer to capitalize on our outdoor time as much as possible and leave the couch-surfing and movie-watching for winter time. But! What if you could comfortably and safely bring your next Netflix binge outside? Imagine gathering your family and neighbors on the patio to watch a baseball game on TV on a balmy summer night. It's less of a hassle than you might think, thanks to some recent trends in hardscape enhancements.   Read More . . .

Exciting New Trends for Your Outdoor Living Space

Friday, January 15, 2016
  • Exciting New Trends For Your Outdoor Living SpaceEven though winter will be hanging on for awhile yet in Wisconsin, it's a great time to think about green grass and warm temperatures. Because we have such a short period of warm weather to look forward to, now is a great time to pre-plan how you will use and enhance your outdoor living space this summer. With some forethought, you can even extend your enjoyment of the outdoors longer into the year.

  • This spring, Villani Landshapers will be featuring some exciting new ideas for getting the most out of your backyard patio or deck. Our director of landscape design, Tyson Mueller, recently presented "Exciting Trends for Outdoor Living Spaces" at the MBA Home Building and Remodeling Show in January.
  • What are some new trends you can incorporate into your backyard this spring? How about an outdoor, wood-burning pizza oven (that cooks much more than your favorite pizza)? Or, have you ever wished you could sit outside and enjoy the Brewers game on TV? With a tuckaway TV, you can have the best of outdoor television viewing while still protecting your electronics from the elements.
  • Tyson also talked about new trends in fireplaces and firepits, outdoor lighting systems, rainwater harvesting, and 10 unique trees and shrubs to add interest to your property. We'll feature each of these ideas in upcoming blog posts, but you can also see the pizza oven and tuckaway TV in person at two more home and garden shows this winter.
  • We'd love to visit with at the NARI Spring Home Improvement Show at State Fair Park the weekend of February 11-14, and at the Realtors Home and Garden Show, also at State Fair Park, from March 18-20 and 23-26. Our designers will be on hand at both shows to discuss bringing your outdoor dreams to life this summer!
